Program East Coast Adventure Australia

Day 1 Sydney

Your unforgettable East Coast adventure starts with a city tour and a welcome dinner in Sydney. You will meet your tour guides and your travel buddies and are able to get to know each other.

Day 2-5 Byron Bay

Welcome to the relaxing getaway Byron Bay. We will discover the beaches, try out surfing and enjoy the magnificent ocean views from the top of the famous lighthouse.

The next morning starts with yoga on the beach. We will explore Byron Bay during the day and in the evening we look forward to delicious wine and cheese in our hostel.

Day 6-8 Surfers Paradise

Surfers Paradise is famous for its waves, endless sandy beaches and exciting nightlife - a real gem on Australia's east coast! We will discover beautiful beaches and visit trendy bars and clubs. The next day is time for relaxation by the pool or for a trip to the city. In the evening we will meet for a few "bevvies" and a "Sausage Sizzle".

Day 9-10 Brisbane

Today we will continue our journey to Brisbane by bus. The accommodation is located in one of the liveliest parts of Brisbane, right in the center of the city.

Day 11-12 Noosa

Tropical greenery, diverse wildlife and beautiful beaches - Noosa, our next stop, is beautiful! The tropical coast with fantastic views is especially great for hiking. Alternatively, you can also just relax on the beach or play a volleyball match or beer with your travel buddies.

Day 13-14 Rainbow Beach

Our next stop is Rainbow Beach, just a stone's throw away from the world's largest island made of sand: Fraser Island! After checking in at the hostel we take a short trip to enjoy the sunset over the Southern tip of Fraser Island.

The next morning, we are starting early to see Australian humpback dolphins! The day at Rainbow Beach is totally up to you and your travel buddies until we do the Fraser Island security briefing in the evening.

Day 15-17 Fraser Island

Today we start our Fraser Island adventure! We will drive along the sandy beach highway, relax in the stunningly clear waters of Lake McKenzie and swim in the champagne pools, one of the few bathing opportunities in the Australian saltwater of the East Coast. On the way back we will stop at a private campsite and enjoy the magnificent view! Back at the Rainbow Beach we spend another night in the hostel and reminiscing about today.

Day 18-20 Town of 1770

Our next stop is Town of 1770, where you and your travel buddies will sizzle marshmallows at a classic Aussie campfire, rent a surfboard and catch some waves or spending time at the pool together. In addition, you have the opportunity to make an exciting scooter tour through Town of 1770. (Additional offer) In the evening we will get on the night bus to Airlie Beach and arrive the next morning.

Day 21-23 Whitsunday Islands

In the morning we will check into the hostel, during the day we will explore the tropical Airlie Beach and take a swim  in the famous Harbourfront Lagoon.

The next day our Whitsunday adventure begins! We will discover the Whitsunday Islands on a small sailboat cruise. During the tour everyone sleeps on board, so make yourself comfortable, have a drink, enjoy delicious food and let the beautiful atmosphere affect you. You can snorkel in pristine blue waters, chill out on the whitest sandy beaches of the world and experience incredible sunsets. These islands are breathtaking! After two fantastic days on the boat, we will return to our hostel in Airlie Beach for the next two nights.

Day 24-25 Airlie Beach

In the evening, you have the chance to enjoy your Whitsunday adventure at the terrace bar of the hostel with the other participants! The next day you can enjoy the heavenly atmosphere in Airlie's lagoon. Just wander around the city or explore the nearby National Park before we are heading out to Townsville.

Day 26-28 Maggie Island

Magnetic Island is home to wild koalas and wallabies. You will enter golden sandy beaches, snorkel in clear blue island waters and take part in a guided fort hike which offers incredible views of the island. Our hostel even has a wildlife park where you can see the Australian wildlife like koalas and wallabies up close! If you want to explore the rest of the island on your own you can hire a 4x4 'Barbie Car' with your Travel Buddies. (Additional offer)

Day 29-30 Mission Beach

Our next stop is Mission Beach where a tropical rain forest meets the reef. This magical place is known for incredible sunrises - you'll wake up early that day! In the neighboring national park we will get to know the traditional land of the Djiru Aborigines.

If you fancy adrenaline, take part in a fantastic whitewater rafting trip in Tully or dare to make Australia's highest parachute jump (15,000 feet!) Fly over a reef, jump out of the plane and land on a beach. Brilliant! (Additional offer)

Day 31-35 Cairns

Tonight we will arrive in Cairns - the ultimate backpacker destination and home to the world famous Great Barrier Reef. Enjoy luxurious air-conditioned dormitories with en-suite bathrooms, a huge pool and daily entertainment in this resort-style accommodation. We will spend the next 5 days here, getting ready for some exciting days in Cairns.

Day 32 Rain forest and Waterfalls

We will spend our first full day in Cairns in the Tablelands region. Here we will swim under waterfalls, explore the rainforest and slide down natural rock slides. If you are lucky, you will discover a somewhat shy platypus in the wild!

Day 33: Great Barrier Reef

Is there a better way to spend the last days of your trip in paradise? A day trip to the breathtaking Great Barrier Reef will make this dream come true! We will take a boat to the outer reef and snorkel while meeting living corals, turtles, stingrays and maybe even Nemo in person. An experience you will never forget!

Day 34-35: Cairns

During the last two days you will have time to explore Cairns and end your holiday while looking back on five wonderful weeks and relaxing by the pool. Enjoy the Cairns Lagoon and have fun going out together with your new friends.

Day 36: Keen for more?

The tour ends here - but your adventure can go on! You have time to plan whether you want to stay in the tropics, discover new destinations in Australia or start your return journey. Your tour guides will gladly give you tips for your future travels and will say goodbye to you and your fellow travelers.
