About this position
This hospitality & tourism internship in the Animation/Kids Club department gives you the chance to work in a prestigious 4–5 star hotel on Portugal’s Algarve — one of Europe’s most stunning coastal regions. Surrounded by sunshine, turquoise water, and the relaxed Portuguese lifestyle, you’ll gain hands-on experience in guest entertainment, activity planning, and family support.
Whether you’re leading sports sessions, organizing creative workshops, or assisting with kids’ shows, you’ll help create unforgettable holiday moments for children, teens, and families. At the same time, you’ll strengthen valuable skills such as communication, teamwork, responsibility, and leadership.
Throughout your stay, you’ll be supported by a dedicated, multilingual local team that guides you from arrival to departure.
What to expect
As an intern in the Animation / Kids Club department, you will be actively involved in the daily routine of the hotel and take on a variety of tasks:
Activity Planning & Entertainment
Plan and lead games, sports, and creative activities
Animate and engage children and teens throughout the day
Support themed days, competitions, or workshops
Kids Club Support
Supervise and care for younger guests in the Kids Club
Ensure a safe, fun, and welcoming environment
Encourage creativity, movement, and social interaction
Shows & Events
Assist with mini disco, family events, or small evening shows
Help set up and organize entertainment programs
Support moderation or stage activities when needed
Teamwork & Guest Interaction
Work closely with the international animation team
Interact with families and guests from around the world
Strengthen your communication and organizational skills
Requirements
Minimum duration: 2 months
Age: 18–24 years
No specific experience needed — motivation, openness, and a love for working with people are enough!

Itinerary of your stay abroad
Arrival at the Airport
Arriving in a new country is always exciting. We want your arrival to be as relaxed as possible. Upon special request, you will be picked you up at the airport and will be brought to your host family or your shared flat. A driver will be waiting for you at the airport with a sign with your name on it. If you cannot find a flight at the desired date, don’t worry. You can choose another one a few days earlier or later.
Orientation program
Within the first days of your arrival one of the team members of our partner organisation will visit you and show you around. You will get to know the country and its people and you will be informed about Do’s and Dont’s. Your local contact person will also provide useful hints for a better starting point in a new lifestyle. You can also join in a language course if you so desire.
Your internship starts
On the first day of your project, you are usually accompanied by a member of our local partner who will answer all of your questions. The further project days your local contact person will always be available for you via phone if you have any concerns or issues to share with somebody.
Free time & weekend
The weekend is totally yours! You may ask your local contact person from our partner organisation about upcoming events, sights, shopping tips or other must see’s. On some days there will be field trips organized by our partner organization. We recommend you to join them as it is always fun to experience a new country with others.
Departure
You shall contact your local contact person a few days prior to your departure to inform about options for your airport drop-off. It will not be included in the services of the internship programs, but our partner organization will help you organize it.

During your internship at the Algarve, your accommodation is already taken care of, completely free of charge! You’ll stay in a shared apartment (WG) together with other interns or young professionals, giving you the perfect balance of independence and community.
The apartments are fully equipped with everything you need for a comfortable stay, including a kitchen, living area, and Wi-Fi.
After work, you can relax with your flatmates, explore the beautiful surroundings, or enjoy the local cafés and restaurants together.
