5-week adventure on Australia's east coast

CATEGORY: East Coast - Adventure Travel

COUNTRY: Australia

READING TIME: 5 minutes

Lilli ventured to Australia with studentsgoabroad and had incredible experiences on the 5-week "East Coast Adventure Tour". From skydiving to diving on the Great Barrier Reef, Lilli now reports on her impressive experiences:

I took part in the "Australia - East Coast Tour" and have to say that it was by far the coolest thing I've ever done. Just a year ago I was sitting at home, doubting whether I could even manage to go to Australia on my own, and now it's become a reality. That's why I'm so grateful to have booked the trip through Studentsgoabroad, because I don't have to worry about anything and don't have to worry about anything going wrong. I had a lovely contact person who arranged everything for me and answered every single question in detail!

The tour was a huge adventure for me, with an incredible amount to see and experience. First of all, the Opera House and the Harbour Bridge in Sydney, which everyone should really see at least once. But also surfing in Byron Bay, jet skiing in Airlie Beach, snorkeling in the Whitsundays or diving in the Great Barrier Reef. These are things I never thought I would ever be able to do. And yet I have been able to do them all and much more. Yes, I even went skydiving. It really was an indescribable feeling when I literally fell through the clouds for 60 seconds at a speed of up to 200 km/h and then enjoyed a view over the whole of Mission Beach.

But the tour also offers a lot for people who are not quite so keen on action - in addition to the many activities we were able to take part in, there was always the opportunity to retreat and enjoy Australia's beaches, nature or cities on our own, listen to the waves and take time to reflect. Australia has many different sides.

One of the highlights of the tour was undoubtedly Brisbane Zoo, which we visited on a day trip. There we were able to pet koalas, feed kangaroos and see many other animals. You probably won't get this close to koalas and kangaroos anywhere else and never again!

I also had a lot of fun on Fraser Island, another stop on the tour. Driving along the endless beaches of the island gave me the opportunity to get to know Australia and the tour group from a completely different perspective. The group I met on my trip was super nice, it was really easy to make friends with everyone. They are all people of the same age and with the same interests, which I - as a rather introverted, shy character - am very happy about.

However, I was particularly impressed by the Great Barrier Reef, where we were even allowed to dive if we wanted to. There you could admire all kinds of fish and corals and see an amazing variety of marine life. I also found the boat tour to the Whitsundays, where we spent two nights at sea, so incomparable that I would do the tour again straight away.

This trip gave me so many different impressions of Australia in such a short time, I saw so many new things every day and experienced so much that I can't stop talking about it.

With its breathtaking landscapes, vibrant beaches and variety of activities, the east coast of Australia truly offers an unforgettable travel experience that I would recommend to anyone - adventurers, nature lovers and culture vultures alike. This trip is full of contrasts and diversity to be discovered.
