The experience went beyond my expectations—I not only achieved my initial goals but also discovered a genuine passion for clinical work.

My internship and life in Valencia
One of the highlights of the internship was getting hands-on experience in medical procedures. I never imagined I’d be trusted to assist with assessments or perform ECGs, but the supportive environment gave me the confidence to step out of my comfort zone. Shadowing the doctors gave me incredible insights into the day-to-day life of a medical professional, and I even found my favorite field—cardiology! This revelation has shaped my academic path, and I couldn’t be more excited about my future academic choices.
Valencia itself was a dream. The city’s vibrant atmosphere, beautiful buildings, and delicious Spanish food made my time here unforgettable. I am especially going to miss the Agua de Valencia and the Paella Valenciana! After long days at the clinic, I explored the charming streets, soaked up the sunshine, and practiced my Spanish with friendly locals. Speaking of Spanish, the internship also helped me improve my language skills. Interacting with patients in a mix of Spanish and non-verbal cues was challenging at first, but it turned out to be one of the most rewarding aspects of my experience!

Overall, my time at the clinic was an incredible mix of learning, growth, and adventure. The team’s encouragement, the patients’ trust, and the energy of Valencia all made this experience one I’ll treasure forever. The internship provider supported me every step of the way and was always there to answer all of my questions. I highly recommend this internship to anyone who wants hands-on clinical exposure while enjoying everything this beautiful city has to offer!
