8-Weeks Volunteering in the Dominican Republic : Highlight of My Life

These 8 weeks have been some of the most important in my life and so I want to say thank you to everyone that has been part of them! I thought that I wouldn’t write anything cheesy but apparently that’s not possible. I've had so many amazing times both at the foundation and with the other volunteers and workers. Just a few memories… Waterfall tour, El Abismo, and Parapente! Walks in the forest (swimming in underwear), mud-baths in an indigenous spa, Snorkelling, showers outside with a hose, everything always being funny, and probably a lot more that I can’t recall right now… Also, teaching and working with the children is something I will never forget, they are so keen to learn and to develop a relationship with you and I am so sad to be leaving them. I just hope that other volunteers keep coming to this place to give these children the care and attention they deserve. I loved seeing them giggle or laugh whilst running to find classroom objects in English class. This trip has helped me to learn a lot about myself, other people, the world and what I want to get out of life. This sounds cliché but it’s true, and the foundation has helped to bring these things about. I would recommend it to anyone who asked. I’m so sad to be flying back to England so soon, time has gone so fast! Hopefully, I will visit you again. I will miss each and every person I have met here! Gracias por todo,
