Usually, internships in Singapore are without remuneration.

The working hours are Monday to Friday from about 9.00-18.00 hours and every second Saturday half-day. However, the times can vary depending on the company, some start earlier.

Yes, because English is the only language of communication between you and your colleagues.

Our interns are accommodated in shared apartments together with other interns. There is a good bus connection to the respective workplace. If you wish, you can also take advantage of other accommodation options such as living with a host family or in your own apartment. Rental prices vary a lot, cheap accommodation is available from 600$ (ca.370€) per month.

No, you'll have to fend for yourself. However, the accommodation offers you enough possibilities for this through an integrated kitchen or through the cooking skills of your host mother. Otherwise, there are also many small snack bars, where lunch costs 3-5 Singapore dollars.

European students receive a 90-day residence permit free of charge upon entry. For a longer stay, you have to apply for a Working Holiday Pass.

In general, it can be said that the penalty in Singapore is comparatively high. Throwing trash and cigarette butts on the street can be punished with community service.

In Singapore there is a general ban on smoking in public.

In any case, one should get some detailed information about the rules in Singapore before leaving, but if one sticks to the rules that one knows from Germany, there are normally no problems. In addition, observe some moral guidelines, such as not polluting the environment, and you're on the safe side.
