About this position
Are you passionate about live events and eager to gain hands-on experience in the bustling world of event production? Our full-service production company, located in the vibrant Chicago area, specializes in theatrical stage lighting and offers you a unique opportunity to dive deep into the industry. As an intern, you will play a crucial role in social media content creation, managing online assets, and collecting on-site media from concerts for our website and social platforms. You'll also get to assist in monitoring complex event logistics, manage gear ins and outs in our warehouse, and ensure seamless vendor-vendor relations. Additionally, you'll gain insights by reading artist riders, securing personnel and equipment, and reviewing logistics for live events, including trucking and airfare. All of this takes place in the heart of Chicago, a city known for its rich cultural scene and vibrant nightlife, making it the perfect backdrop for an unforgettable internship experience.

What to expect
The internship has a wide range of tasks to offer, including the following activities:
Social media content creation
Managing online assets
Collecting on-site media from concerts for website and social media
Collecting industry data/analyzing data
Assisting in monitoring complex event logistics
Assisting in monitoring gear ins and outs in our warehouse
Reading artist riders
Vendor-vendor relations
Note-taking during meetings
Securing personnel & equipment that aligns with artist riders
Reviewing trucking, airfare, and other logistics surrounding live events
Itinerary of your stay abroad
Important note: All applicants, who plan to do an internship in the USA are required to be independent and are of confident character. Although our partner will help you to be placed in an internship according to your demands and assist you with the visa application (including DS forms), they can not personally support you while you are abroad. However, in urgent cases your can always reach our partner and us and we will immediately help you to solve your problems.
Requirements
You have to be at least in your 3rd semester of your studies to be eligible for the program. Furthermore, you need to undergo an online language test and a skype interview to qualify for your your visa. In many cases a language course has to be booked in addition to improve your skills before the internship starts. Therefore, check if your English skills are sufficient before you decide to apply for an internship.
Registration fee
To get the placement process started the registration fee of 190€ has to be paid.
Internship placement
Our partner reliably organizes high quality internships. The pure internship placement takes about 2 to 3 months.
J-1 visa application
After we have found and confirmed your internship placement, you need to apply for the J-1 visa. We will give you several useful hints and check lists, that will simplify your life. Our partner will organize all important documents as the DS-2019 and the DS_7002 form. In addition to the internship placement, the visa application can take up to 3 months. In many cases you won't get your visa approved just a couple of days before your actual departure. Therefore, keep calm! Arrival at the airport
Our partner organization can organize your airport pick-up with a taxi, if required, so that you don't have to worry about getting to your accommodation by your own. Always take your time and relax 1 or 2 days after your arrival, before starting your internship.
Your internship starts
On your first day of your internship you will drive to the host company on your own. But don't worry, you will be well informed about how to get from your accommodation to your working place.
Free time & weekend
The weekend will be yours! Interns in the USA will travel independently and thus can decide on their own, where to go and when.
